Corfu or “Kerkyra”
as the Greek say, is the second biggest and most northern situated island of the Ionic Archipel. Total area covers some 592 square kilometres. The island is 62 kilometres long and its width varies from 3.5 kilometres in the south to 28 kilometres in the north. Almost half of the approximately 130.000 islanders live and work in the dazzling capital city. The other inhabitants live in the well over 200 villages, spread over the island. The people of Corfu have one thing in common: they are all very proud of their “island of love”.

Corfu is – also according to the Greek – the most beautiful of all islands and the mainlanders love to go there themselves for their holidays. And that makes sense, because the island has it all. Lovely pebble beaches, gently sloping sandy beaches, small bays with crystal clear water where you can have a swim or sunbathe.

Corfu has also a lot to offer. Traces of its rich history can be found everywhere. There are numerous museums, old fortresses and monasteries spread over the island. Bars, restaurants and discotheques are merely to be found at the more tourist villages along the seaside (and of course at Corfu-city). But every village had its own cosy outdoor café or local tavern where you can enjoy the local specialities!

In short: Corfu has something to suit all tastes!
